The Anime Collection - 4Q16
The ANIME COLLECTION for Pre-Fall 2016 was inspired by the question “Who is CHI CHI VON TANG?” This is answered with an anime-narration through the world of ‘CHI CHI,’ your superhero muse. The resulting anime silk print of CHI CHI ‘kicking ass, saving the world, and looking hot as hell’, is contrasted against Chinese brocades and flashes of neon. The collection’s focus remains on casual statement jackets. Kimono and Qipao-inspired designs go femme fatale.
The Burma Collection - 3Q16
The second collection of CHI CHI VON TANG is inspired by the tribal women of Myanmar. Designer, Lisa Von Tang, explored the Burmese countryside, and found four tribes, the Kayah, Kayan Paduang, Pa-O, and Long Necks. She spent the most time with the Kayah women, who invited her into their bamboo huts, dressed her up in their traditional dress, and shared their way of life. The collection draws on the pride, purity and strength conveyed in the tribal dress, and is produced in luxurious silks, cupros, highly textured linens and leather.
Flowers at Midnight - 2Q16
Flowers at Midnight is CHI CHI VON TANG's ode to the deep, dark, seductive mystery that lives at the edges. Its a collection full of sombre, custom floral prints; that look more poisonous than pretty. And as ever, street-luxe, easy to wear designs for the modern warrior woman or man. Loved by stars like Mick Jagger and rapper Eve, CHI CHI VON TANG gives its take on edgy, elegant fashion inspired by Asia. Flowers at Midnight is limited edition, and the custom prints will not be used ever again.
The Inaugural Collection - 1Q16
The first collection of CHI CHI VON TANG was inspired by Chinese couture, and the fire and swagger of Grace Jones. True to street-luxe form, CHI CHI VON TANG played with traditional shapes, like the Emperor Robe and Cheong Sam, and modernized it for everyday wearability. Traditional textile designs and Chinese silks are used in this collection on sports-inspired pieces like the CHI CHI Warrior Bomber, the top-seller.
